Are you a committed Christian leader with a passion for connecting students to Christ and His Church? 

We are seeking a Youth Minister (Part-Time) to give leadership to our Student Ministry (Grades 6-12), as well as partnering in general pastoral ministry with the Lead Pastor and staff. The ideal candidate is a gifted, spiritually mature Christian who has experience in discipling young people with the gospel and a desire to equip students, parents, and volunteers for ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the church’s efforts to minister with and to students between ages 11 to 18.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Student Ministry, including, but not limited to, weekly large group gatherings, consistent small group discipleship opportunities, and monthly fellowship events.
  • Be active in the lives of our students from attending events our students are involved in to being actively engaged in the schools of the students.
  • Regularly teach the Bible to the students with conviction, compassion, and care, taking into consideration the full counsel of God’s Word and the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental needs of the students in our community.
  • Oversee and participate in all Student Ministry events and activities (including camps, short-term mission opportunities, etc).
  • Recruit, equip, and empower new volunteers for the Student Ministry.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about the events and activities of the Student Ministry. 
  • In consultation with church leadership, develop an annual budget for the Student Ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.
  • Be available to preach and teach the Bible in adult worship services when asked.
  • Regularly report to the Lead Pastor about developments in the student ministry.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A growing Christian faith and character.
  • A commitment to the mission of the church.
  • A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in ministering to students and shepherding student ministry volunteers preferred, but not required.
  • A desire to teach and mentor students in biblical truth.
  • Understanding of and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the church.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
